Thanks to feedback from some of you, we have learned that the performance of the RangeMaster Family of hardware does not meet all expectations. We also thank you for encouraging us by praising the functionality. As a result of this feedback we have developed an additional external component circuit which resolves the issue. The attached circuit diagram details the additional circuit. Further as a result of this feedback we have made some improvements to the hardware of the WooferWidget and offer a replacement WooferWidget (Rev2) unit to any customer who has purchased one of the originals. Please co-ordinate with you local representative or support@anadigm.com, to arrange shipment of a replacement unit and return paid packing for the original unit. Short Technical explanation. The noise floor, under no signal conditions was too high for some applications (specifically where the Sonicmaster board is followed by a very high gain circuit). To improve the noise floor we have introduced an Analog noise suppression technique which is extremely effective in removing this noise. The Opto-electronic device used has no influence on the signal path for normal and high level signal amplitude. The hardware changes also demanded that we modified the embedded uP and PC software, thus an entirely new package has been prepared. We hope that you our future customers will continue to evaluate all SonicMaster evaluation boards with respect to functionality and note the requirement for additional circuitry in some applications.
