The AN221E04 Dynamically Reconfigurable Field Programmable Analog Array With Rich I/O Cell Design
The AN221E04 was inspired by feedback received from our customers. This new version, has more outputs to implement analog designs on a single integrated platform. It also has analog to digital conversion after signal conditioning functionality integrated onto the same chip.
The new AN221E04 features an advanced input/output structure that lets you program the dpASP with up to six outputs - or triple the number provided by the AN220E04. The device has four configurable I/O cells and two dedicated output cells. For I/O-intensive applications, this means you can now use a single dpASP to process multiple channels of analog signals where two or more such devices were previously needed.
In addition, the AN221E04 allows you to implement an integrated 8-bit analog-to-digital converter on the dpASP, eliminating the potential need for an external converter. Using this new device, you can route the digital output of the A/D converter off-chip using one of the dedicated output cells.
With dynamic reconfigurability, you can program the AN221E04 to implement multiple analog functions and/or to adapt on-the-fly to maintain precision operation despite system degradation and aging. With analog functions defined by software, the analog subsystem can be controlled using C-code automatically generated by AnadigmDesigner®2.
